I am a postdoctoral researcher in Steven E. Brenner's, computational genomics group at UC Berkeley, working on automated protein function prediction.
Before coming to Berkeley, I completed my PhD in 2013 in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, at Texas A&M University, where I was in Genomic Signal Processing (GSP) Lab and my advisor was Dr. Byung-Jun Yoon
I received my B.S. in 2005 and my M.S. in 2008 both in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran.
My current research interests include the following topics in bioinformatics and computational biology:
Automated Protein Function Prediction
-
Big Biological Data
Biological Network Alignment/Querying
Biological Sequence Alignment
-
Genomic Signal Processing
Comparative Genomics
Previously my research was focused in the following topics in signal and image processing:
Image Denoising
Image/Signal Watermarking
